Roush Performance Introduces 428R Mustang

The Mustang has always been a favorite among performance enthusiasts. This automobile manufactured by Dearborn automaker Ford was initially based on the Ford Falcon compact car. The first Ford Mustang rolled off the assembly facility on March 9, 1964. Decades and modifications later, the Mustang survives even today when small fuel thrifty cars are in demand.

And the Mustang will live on with the help of Roush Performance, an automotive company owned and operated by automotive mogul Jack Roush. The said company specializes in engineering racing and street cars. The difference between a race car and a street car when a vehicle is made by Roush is blurred. And this expertise on the part of Roush Performance boosts the popularity of the Mustang.

Recently, Roush announced that it continues its tribute to the Dearborn automaker’s legendary history. Their way of celebrating this is by developing and manufacturing the 428R Mustang which is a limited edition pony car meaning only a few will be able to get their hands on this future classic. This is Roush Performance’s follow-up to the very successful 427R Mustang which they released last year.

Car enthusiasts who are very much interested in owning one of these limited edition vehicles will have a short wait as Roush announced that these will be delivered to participating Ford dealerships by next month. The company though did not announce whether they are accepting pre-orders.

“We are continuing to honor and celebrate the heritage of the proudest models of Ford racing history - the 427, 428 and 429 (engines),” said Jack Roush. These engines are part of the family of Ford FE engines. The 428 engine is also a follow up to the 427 engine which was deemed as impractical for street use although it is a great race and performance engine and when fitted into a street car, a strong EBC brake pad will be needed for effective stopping power. These engines are part of Ford’s incursion into the muscle car market.

According to Jack Roush, the three engines which he mentioned are part of Ford’s history and their goal is to bring them back to popularity in the “muscle car world”. He said: “These are iconic numbers in the Ford world and it is an honor to put them onto Roush Mustangs and insert them back into the muscle car world.”

“The 427R is easily the most popular Mustang model that ROUSH has ever introduced to the market,” said Joe Thompson, Roush Performance’s vice president and general manager according to a report at autochannel.com. In the same way, the original 427 engine paved a new era for Ford’s engineering expertise, the 427R Mustang is also where this revival of Ford’s historic engines started for Roush. “That vehicle will remain the cornerstone of our lineup, but to celebrate Ford’s history of automotive breakthroughs we will build a 428R in 2008 and a 429R in 2009. These cars are intended to be a collector’s edition with limited production that pays respect to Ford Muscle Car history,” added Thompson.

If you’ve never heard of it before it’s important to know because it could cost you thousands of dollars. Any consumer seeking to recovery the maximum possible from automobile accident appraisals should find out all they can about this hidden fact.

Diminished Value Claims can be worth 20-50% of the vehicle’s resale value, typically worth in the thousands. Typical claims for Diminished Value scenarios can run around $4,000 -$15,000 for a single claim and estimates on luxury high end vehicles can get even higher amounts.

Research shows that 55% of consumers would not buy a car if had been in an accident and over 80% would want a huge discount on the price before they would consider such a purchase. A study completed by the State of Florida determined “uncompensated losses” due to “decreased value” were estimated to be worth over twenty billion dollars in the United States.
